My favorite Japanese food

Ever get the munchies at 1 in the morning? Well, since I don't think I'm gonna be able to step out for a food run, I think I'll ramble on a bit about my favorite foods...let's just call it a lesson on Japanese fast food:

#1 : MOS burger! (Mountain Ocean Sun) Yes, it's pronounced like the green, slimy stuff found under rocks but this is one tasty burger, smothered with meat sauce and onion bits, along with a slice of tomato. ($3) It's a small little thing that can probably fit within the palm of a large man but it's mighty good.

#2: Yoshi-gyu!! Forget about the U.S. chain that goes by the same name. This bowl of juicy, meaty heaven works best after a long night of drinking. It just absorbs the alcohol like a sponge so you can drive home without worry! The unfortunate thing is that Yoshinoya had to pull their beef bowl off the market because of the government's ban on U.S.-imported meat. Japanese people were going crazy when the last bowl was served a few months ago. Now, and they've replaced it with a pork bowl, topped with kimchi. The thin slices of luscious fatty meat are still there, though. I tried it the other day and was actually quite impressed. Die-hard Yoshinoyans, however, feel otherwise. ($4.70)

#3: Japanese-style asparagus, corn and mayo pizza! Hey, don't knock it til you try it. This particular one on the left is called THE BOMBA and is also topped with eggplant, teriyaki sauce, potato, mushrooms, tomato and parsley. Heck, this is more nutritious than a garden salad. Just remember to use your napkin to soak up the excess oil. ($31.50)
